For individuals with mobility issues, dementia, and other limitations

At Hartland House, we believe that moving into a residential home should increase the quality of life for residents, their family and their friends. We strive to enable every resident to live life to the fullest every day by supporting each resident as an individual, and in a person centred way, whatever their needs.

Dementia

We understand that dementia is never just about memory loss. It can affect every aspect of a person’s life and cause emotional distress in any situation, at any time.

That’s why we have designed Hartland House to be as dementia friendly as it possibly can be. From light, neutral colour schemes to automatic lighting, large display clocks and clear signage, we are confident that the environment we have created is a positive and calm one.

Mobility Issues

Whether you are a wheelchair user, rely on walking frames, walking sticks or other mobility aids, you can be confident that Hartland House can support you to get from A to B safely.

Not only do we support you with using your own mobility equipment, our staff are trained to use a range of mobility aids kept in house - to enable those with fluctuating mobility needs to remain as independent as possible while having that extra support when needed.

Difficulty with Sight and Hearing

We understand that sight and hearing issues are common in the later stages of life, and so we have designed Hartland House to be easy to navigate with wide corridors, clear signage, and bright rooms with lots of natural light.

There are staff on hand at all hours to support with getting from room to room, hearing aids, glasses, and other sensory issues you may be facing. We also have regular visits from eye care and hearing aid specialists, as well as specialised equipment to assist with mealtimes (plate guards, different coloured plates, etc).

Our dedicated activity team make sure to tailor activities to be as inclusive as possible by providing audiobooks, using specialist games and equipment such as dominoes for the vision impaired, large print books, etc.
